Back To School DIY Eternity Scarf / Necklace

In the back left hand corner you can see me... with the "necklace" to match my Maxi Skirt.

I'll have the link at the bottom of this post for you to find the DIY pattern for this fun and easy, adjustable Maxi Skirt.

Supplies:

1/4  yard- Riley Blake Navy Gray Jersey Knit 57"

  • I used the leftovers from when I made my skirt

1/4" Dowel
Standard sewing supplies

Cut:
Start by cutting 2 strips of fabric that measure about 2" X Width of the Fabric

  • If using scraps you will want the end measurement to equal about 104"
  • If you would like your scarf/necklace to be more chunky, cut the strips wider than 2"

Sew the strips together to make one long strip

Fold the strip in half lengthwise with RIGHT sides together. Sew along the long side of the strip using a Stretch or Zig Zag stitch. Sew to close ONE end of the necklace.

Turn the tube Right Side out by pushing the dowel into the sewn end of the tube.

Continue pushing until the whole tube is RIGHT side out.

Take the unfinished end of the necklace and tuck the unfinished end into the necklace about 1/2".

Tuck the unfinished end into a folded end and sew across to secure.

Wrap the necklace three times and put it on!
